A game worth watching. It had all the ingredients necessary to cook up a winner in either side. At one end we were creating several chances but blew it all away due to poor finishings. On the other side, the swift counter attacks were worrying Coach Harman.
It has been 2 weeks since we last lost our game 0-5 to Arsenal. But back then we were playing with our younger set of players. Today, we had a full squad and they were back with a bang!
There were a few objectives set out for the players as Coach Harman went through the game plan. The players executed it really well and by the end of 30 minutes we had 5 clear chances at goal but none tested the goalkeeper.
It was now that Coach Harman felt the need to introduce Hayshagen into his plan. Within seconds, he was running the opponents ragged with his delicate ball control and sudden burst of acceleration.
The players were motivated again. By half time, the scoreline reads GFA 2, ISA 0.
Still, Coach Harman feared that the lack of playing time for the P6 boys could be the undoing of the team. So toying carefully with his game plan, he changed the backline as well as forward line to preserve our fitness. He also stressed the need to make good our striking efforts cos ISA is well known for making great come backs.
The pep talk worked wonderfully. Within minutes, we managed to increase our lead and this time we made all our efforts count. It was a masterful performance which Coach Harman could only dream of.
Goals came in fast and in all directions. Even new player Kaustubh, showed his intelligence by being at the right place at the right time, notching his first goal in GFA shirt. Final score 8-0.

It was a hard fought game only to be let down by poor first touch and passing. Definitely a lot of training sessions needed if we were to be among the top half of the group.
ANZA League

GFA (2) vs (0) ANZA Gunners
Midfield dynamo Ahmad Hafiz capitalised on Gunners' sloppy defending with his timely runs to score both goals in 2nd half to give a hard fought win for Team A.

By Coach Harman
It was a topsy turvy season 2008/2009 for GFA Singapore. The 2008 GFA KL tournament was postponed and we had to resort to playing just friendly matches in Selangor Royal Club. It was fun nonetheless.
Then there was the H1 N1 virus where our training ground was closed for almost 3 months followed by our seasonal break. In all fairness, we missed almost 4 months of training for season 2008/2009.

Happy faces again - Danial Zafran Morris
SINGAPORE MALAY - RSC 7s TOURNAMENT
Of course, there were some good news for our academy. During one of the U12 tournaments that we took part in, our players were shortlisted to go for the Singapore Malay trials. Unfortunately due to exam commitments, these players decided to take a back seat. They were;
U12 - Syed Syazwan
U12 - Hayshagen
U12 - Hazique Hibri
FAS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE - age group
4 of our U8 players were selected for FAS Centre of Excellence Scheme where they enjoyed additional training under the watchful eyes of FAS coaches. 1 from U10 and 2 from U12 players were selected to join the FAS scheme too. They are;
U8 - Fathullah
U8 - Md Firas
U8 - Md Haikal
U8 - Md Afiq
U10 - Ashraf
U12 - Syed Syazwan
U12 - Hayshagen
Although we miss them at the beginning, their love for GFA were never ending. Months later, they came back to join their old team mates, screaming and laughing all in the name of good fun.
One of our many goals is to showcase our players' talent. With a good base of coaching network, we hope that they get spotted and play at a higher level. We only have best wishes and interest for those who move on and of course, we always welcome them back at GFA if they find it hard to cope.
Here are others who have graduated and continued their soccer at a higher level;
Syafiq - National age group
Syed Sufiyan - National age group
Our target of producing at least 1 national age group player annually have exceeded beyond expectation. Like the saying goes;
FOOTBALL IS SIMPLE, THE DIFFICULT PART IS TO MAKE IT LOOK SIMPLE ....
